A mobile phone is also called cell
phone. It is a portable communication device which can be used to make and take
calls on radio frequency.
The radio frequency establishes a
connection between the switching of a mobile operator. Mobile phones use
cellular networks. These phones allow you to send messages, email, gives
internet access, allows mms, wireless communications, games, photography and
advanced computing on the smart mobile phones.
The first mobile phone was used by John
F Mitchell and Martin Cooper of Motorola in 1973. They used a phone that
weighed 2kg. The first Cellular Network was launched by a Japanese firm – the
Nippon Telegraph and Telephone in 1979. The first among the commercial mobile
phone was made available in 1983 and in the last 45 years the industry has
grown to seven billion and has become a part of the human population a hundred
percent.
Smartphone’s make up to 78% of the sales
and the largest shares belong to Samsung, Nokia and Alcatel. The need to have
portable telephones began only after WWII. The Motorola DYna TAC 8000X was the
first commercial mobile phone launched in 1984. In 1991 the second generation -
2g phones were launched in Finland by Radiolinjaon GSM standard. In 2001 the 3G
was launched on WCDMA. Later the 3G advancements were launched. In 2009 the 3G were swamped by the 4G claim.
